Simba network assistant

Ask what is wrong. See the evidence behind the answer.

Simba investigates Axon’s live network data using typed, site-scoped tools. It can inspect health, traffic, policy, active measurements, capacity, recent changes and data freshness, then explain the result in plain language. Tool results stay attached to the investigation, and numeric claims are checked against source data before you see them.

Anatomy of an investigation

One question can cross every network silo.

You describe the symptom

Name a site, user, application, IP, domain or switch.

Simba resolves the context

It confirms the site and entity before reading device-specific evidence — and asks when the target is ambiguous.

Axon collects the facts

Current health, historical baselines, traffic, policy, recent changes and data freshness.

A bounded test runs if needed

DNS, HTTP, path or speed diagnostics execute from the affected site — after checking existing history first.

You get the conclusion and caveats

The answer links the finding to the evidence and recommends the next operator action.

A real Simba investigation over the Axon traffic rules page. The operator asks whether the Instagram block rule actually blocked traffic on the Development site or is only configured. Simba answers that the rule is both configured and actively blocking traffic: 616,914 bytes and 1,371 packets blocked from the device at IP 10.10.10.100, with the Block Instagram rule currently active. A badge notes the bounded investigation hit a guard-rail and stopped.

Why trust the answer

Built to be checked, not believed.

Evidence first

A factual floor under every answer

A deterministic health bundle gives Simba a truthful starting point. Typed tools retrieve the exact site, switch, traffic or diagnostic evidence needed for the question — never free-form database access.

Honest about uncertainty

Zero is not the same as unavailable

Simba distinguishes zero from unavailable, stable from healthy, configured policy from observed effect, and correlation from cause. If the evidence is stale or incomplete, the answer says so.

Safe by default

It cannot quietly change your network

Tool access follows the signed-in user’s site permissions. Active probes are bounded. Simba has no write tools for policy, runtime configuration or agent updates, so it diagnoses and explains — operators make the changes.

Day-one questions

Ask with the identifier you have.

Simba resolves sites, switches, IPs, MACs, hostnames, ports, domains, ASNs, countries, policy rules or lifecycle operations — so you can start from whatever the ticket gives you.

  • “Give me the current health of every site, but call out missing telemetry.”
  • “Why did the Development site’s Experience Score drop?”
  • “Which applications contributed most during saturated hours?”
  • “Who contacted this domain, and what do we know about its ASN and provider?”
  • “What changed in the hour before this switch went offline?”
  • “Compare the latest DNS and HTTP measurements with the site baseline.”

Runs where your evidence lives.

Simba connects to your Axon deployment over the private VPN, with per-deployment tokens, user-scoped site permissions and fair concurrency controls on shared GPU infrastructure.
